What is CMS (Content Management System)? a simple tutorial

A few days ago one of my friends name Sadaqat Ali was asking me about CMS and want some basic information about what CMS actually is? So i decide to write a artical about CMS hope it will help you a little to understand about website systems !

What is CMS ?

CMS stands for Content Management System it is a web base software to manage the content of websites. some time it is also called web management system. As you all know websites becoming more and more popular day by day and become a need of time for business and all other purposes about all type of material we can get form websites knowing the importance of website CMS was written to manage the web contents in a easy manner without know the website programing mean there is no need to learn programming to make or manage a website.

When ever we think about a website we thing about how to make it how to edit it how to design it all these type of questions arise in our mind it old days when there was no CMS people learn different languages to develop a website or to hire a professional for there websites with the evolution of internet and websites it become necessary to develop a system for websites. There are number of different languages you may learn like HTML, CSS, PHP, JAVASCRIPT, jQuery and Ajax if there is no CMS. Now there is no need to learn all these programming languages,

Types of CMS

There are different types of CMS depending on different factors i categorized them on the base of there availability some are open source and avaliable free for all and support by a large community. While some are written by programmers only for a single organisation or only for a single purpose e.g you can say Medical  CMS is use for managing the website related to medical.

While choosing CMS you should care about website

Drupal is for larger websites
joomla is for relatively small websites
Wrodpress is for smaller website or for blogs
